Today was supposed to be a rest day, according to my marathon training plan (Hal Higdon). Last night I worked until 8:15 PM – a 13 hr shift – and by the time I got home, I remembered I was supposed to babysit my niece for the night, so running was out of the equation.
Week 1 of the training plan is as follows:
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – 3 miles
Wednesday – 3 miles
Thursday – 3 miles
Friday – Rest
Saturday – 6 miles
Sunday – XT
I’m all caught up now. Just ran 3.5 miles in 34:15. Fueled this morning with brown rice farina made with vanilla coconut milk, agave, vanilla, golden flaxseed, walnuts and cinnamon. It’s truly a satisfying way to start the morning, with of course, a cup of coffee.
Registered for Tinker Bell so I’m going Coast 2 Coast in 2014 as well. So excited!!! Guess I’ll be eating rice and ramen noodles to fund the “free sport of running!” Hahaha
