I love October! Autumn has been my favorite season despite the fact that it’s when my seasonal affective disorder kicks in. I’m determined to make the best out of it. Autumn is amazing – fall festivals, cooler weather, gorgeous fall foliage, apple festivals and races. Yes, races! It’s the perfect season for running.
A couple of other things I’m looking forward to this season is traveling to Walt Disney World with my friends Jillian and Becky to run the Wine and Dine Half Marathon. I worked with Lesley from Greater Fitness to create a tutu that will be part of my running costume and she did a fabulous job on it. Please check her work out. She’s done many tutus that have been worn for races, so they’ve been tried and tested. I can’t wait to show you my running costume. It’s still coming together; I’m so excited about it! I’ve also collaborated with Melissa, with Jamberry Nails so be on the lookout soon. I’ve got a giveaway coming!
I’ve also decided to run the Philadelphia Half Marathon instead of the full marathon. I signed up for the full as a way to redeem myself from last year’s failure (injury at mile 21 forced me to walk the remaining 5 miles). I’ve been really busy with work and taking 2 courses at the university that I just don’t have the time to train properly for it. My goal is to train properly for the upcoming races and work with a trainer for a future marathon goal. Besides, 13.1 is a great distance and for me, at the moment, an attainable goal.
So, Happy 1st of October, friends!
