One week until the Princess Half Marathon and I’ve started to increase my fluid intake, especially water and coconut water, and cutting back on coffee (ugh, kill me please!!!) and other caffeinated beverages.
One week prior to a race is no time to experiment with different “green” drinks. I am a pretty clean eater, and so one of my fellow co-workers gave me a sample of the raw, alkalizing green drink she constantly drinks. I tried it out and it threw my entire digestive system out of whack, since Thursday. So this chick is on an anti-spasmodic…AGAIN! Drinking juice that’s purely fruit and veggies and does not include all these extracts (maca root, matcha green tea, yerba mate, etc.) does not make me sick and I’m not willing to try another one again. My $45 jug of “green” powder is getting donated to my friend who is on a raw vegan diet.
I went shopping this weekend (in between feeling sick) for some last-minute essentials. Bought some Clif-Bloks, which are amazing. They taste like gummi bears and don’t get stuck on my teeth; picked up some raw almond butter and some raw cashew butter to spread on a bagel for a pre-race meal. Heavy at 4 AM but what’s a girl to do? 🙂
Now I’m in the process of finalizing my playlist. Suggestions are welcome 🙂
See you at the finish line,
