Disclosure: I was provided with the opportunity to try and review Vega Sport Performance Protein as part of being a Sweat Pink Ambassador. All opinions are strictly my own and completely honest.
Recently, the folks at Vega teamed up with Fit Approach/Sweat Pink for an opportunity to review products for their new Fuel Your Better Campaign. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this campaign! I’m a busy nurse mainly on a plant-based diet, so it’s really important to fuel my body right, especially when training for races. I was already a user and a fan of Vega One, therefore I was looking forward to giving this a try.
I chose the Vega Sport Performance Protein, which they sent in a box of twelve single-serving packets in vanilla flavor. Their performance protein has been formulated to (from the Vega website):
- Improve strength and exercise performance
- Repair and build muscles
- Reduce recovery time between training
I used this mainly during Insanity training. I mixed one packet of vanilla Vega Sport Performance Protein with 16 ounces of almond milk and some PB2 and drank them after each workout. I loved the taste of it (not gritty or chalky taste). It contains the right amount of protein (a whopping 25 grams!) the body needs to allow for muscle recovery. I didn’t feel as sore as I thought I would after high intensity interval training, but I’m not sure it was the Vega, who knows exactly?
I did enjoy drinking Vega Sport Performance Protein and will continue to use it, especially with marathon training starting in two weeks.
